All-Sky Imager Workshop 2025

Wann Di, 25.02. · 09:00 Uhr - Mi, 26.02.2025 · 12:00 Uhr
Wo Hybrid: Stellwerk18, Eduard-Rüber-Str. 7, 83022 Rosenheim oder via Zoom

The increasing share of renewable energies sources into the power grid makes precise photovoltaic forecasts more important than ever. To ensure grid stability and optimize energy management, accurate short-term solar radiation predictions are essential. All-Sky Imagers (ASI) play a key role in this process by capturing real-time cloud observations, enabling more reliable forecasts and improved integration of solar power into energy systems.

As part of the HELIOS research project, funded by the German Federal Environmental Foundation (Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt), we are organizing a dedicated workshop to explore the latest advancements in ASI technology, their diverse applications, and current research initiatives. The event will bring together experts from academia and industry, featuring insightful presentations on a wide range of topics, including:

  • Reliable Systems & Affordable Hardware
  • Publicly Available All-Sky Imager Datasets
  • AI Applications for Sky Image Analysis
  • Solar Forecasting & Research Gaps
  • Solar Irradiance & Measurement Campaigns
  • Industry Insights & Company Pitches

Beyond the expert presentations, the workshop provides numerous opportunities for in-depth discussions, valuable knowledge exchange, and networking with experts and practitioners in the field, fostering collaborations and new insights into the latest development in All-Sky Imagers.

The event will be held in hybrid format, allowing participants to join either online (Zoom) or in person at Stellwerk18 (Digital Start-Up Center) in Rosenheim.

A preliminary program is available, with final updates to follow as the event approaches. Please check the program also for further information.

Participation is free of charge. We warmly invite you to join us and be part of this exciting exchange on the future of All-Sky Imaging and Solar Forecasting.
