Laboratory for Room Air Technology and Room Climate Systems

The laboratory has a model apartment for the investigation of ventilation and air-conditioning systems. The current focus is on investigations of simple residential ventilation systems.

 

Areas of expertise

• Investigation and optimization of residential ventilation systems with and without heat recovery
• Comfort measurements in connection with indoor air and indoor climate systems
• Product optimizations for home ventilation and classroom ventilation systems

• Research apartment with 70 m² living space, convertible to classroom
• Full air conditioning system for flexible ventilation and conditioning of the apartment
• Tracer gas measurement system (CO2, SF6) for studies on ventilation effectiveness and air exchange rates
• Comfort measuring stations for indoor air flow, temperature stratification and humidity
• Controllable CO2 sources and thermal dummies for simulation of people
• Various volumetric flow meters
• Climate boxes for simulation of outdoor climate for single room ventilation units
