"The International Staff Week offers the possibility to staff of other universities to act as embassadors for the TH Rosenheim and inform students about what they can expect from our Technical University of Applied Sciences. Workshops in the format of a lecture delivered insight into the extraordinary top-quality teaching, which students from other university expect at TH Rosenheim", reflects Prof Ralph Kriechbaum, academic Head of International Affairs. The icing on the cake for the participants: The Oktoberfest with locals and the professor!
From 26 - 30 September 2022 we hold the first International Staff Week at TH Rosenheim within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme. It was our goal, to introduce TH Rosenheim to our partner universities and exchange examples in good practice of internationalisation with the participants. 17 staff member of universities from Finland (South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences – XAMK), France (University of Lille), Croatia (University of Osijek, University of Split), Latvia (Riga Technical University), Lithuania (SMK University of Applied Social Sciences), Poland (Wroclaw University of Science and Technology), Spain (LaSalle Campus Barcelona) and Czech Republic (University of Jan Evangelista Purkyne) as well as from Mexico (Universidad Panamericana) visited TH Rosenheim for that reason, among them vice deans, lecturers, staff from International Offices as well as coordinators of international study programmes.
“The International Office staff made us feel welcome well before we even got to Rosenheim. All events were well organised and the team made sure that we felt like home. The workshops and seminar sessions granted me the opportunity to share my knowledge and get to know best practices from other universities, related to student mobility. This International Week has allowed me to give me a better understanding of TH Rosenheim and what my students will expect as mobility students”, says Ramata Bah Bah from LaSalle Campus Barcelona, Spain.
At TH Rosenheim the following professors participated in the international exchange: Prof Ralph Kriechbaum and Prof Carolin Fleischmann, Faculty of Business Administration, Prof Holly Ott and Prof Rainer Grohmann, Faculty of Wood Technology and Construction, Prof Martin Neumaier and Prof Peter Zentgraf, Faculty of Engineering, Prof Sonja Unterlechner, Faculty of Management and Engineering, as well as Prof Jan-Diederich Lüken, Faculty for Chemical Technology and Economics.
"Staff week at TH Rosenheim was an unforgettable experience, as we had a great opportunity to meet staff from various universities around Europe, share our experiences, as well as discuss international topics. In addition, we had a marvelous time visiting Burghausen, Oktoberfest and learning more about German culture!", reports Jurga Švobaitė, from the University SMK Vilnius, Lithuania.
During the first two workshops the participants received an insight into the international teaching at campus Rosenheim: „Supply Chain Management“ by Prof Ralph Kriechbaum, Faculty of Business Administration, and „Successful Teamwork in International Settings“ by Prof Sonja Unterlechner, Faculty of Management and Engineering. Prof Rainer Grohmann of the Faculty of Wood Technology and Construction organised a laboratory tour in our origin field and Prof Peter Zentgraf, Faculty of Engineering, demonstrated the strong practice-oriented in his laboratory tour.
Furthermore, the International Office staff offered workshops on international programmes, marketing and recruiting, mobility and welcome culture. Participants intruduced their international activities and exchanged views and ideas with eachother.
At our day trip to Campus Burghausen Prof Jan-Diederich Lüken presented our diferrent locations and appropriate english-taught programmes.
We started into the staff week in advance with an intercultural online training on Bavaria for Beginners, which was tested and proved by an evening visit to the Oktoberfest in Munich and a hiking tour and Bavarian Brotzeit dinner at a chalet in the nearby ski resort Sudelfeld.
