Recognition

To ensure that you have planning certainty before starting your stay abroad, you should clarify the recognition of the planned examinations in advance. To do so, please use the form "Preliminary application for recognising skills". Submit your application - after prior consultation with the responsible international departmental coordinator - to the course secretariat or faculty office.

Course/module descriptions
For the substantive review of recognisability, please attach a brief course/module description of the respective subjects abroad, in English or German, to your application. This description should contain the contents of the subject taught, and show which skills are conveyed (see "learning outcomes"). Information on the modules can be found on the websites of the partner universities. We recommend that you retain this information until the end of the semester abroad.

Processing the application
The substantive review of recognisability and the decision on recognition are the responsibility of the Examination Committee at your faculty. Please note that processing applications quickly by the Examination Committee is often not possible during the lecture-free period. The decision may be delayed until the start of the lecture period. With the approval of your "Preliminary application for recognising skills", you have a guarantee that these items will be recognised - provided that you subsequently pass the related examinations. Please only submit specific applications and limit them to those courses that you will actually take abroad and that you would like to have recognised towards your studies at the TH Rosenheim.

After you return from your stay abroad, please submit an application for recognising skills, if courses and examinations completed abroad should be recognised towards your studies at the TH Rosenheim. Regardless of whether and how the recognisability has been checked in advance (e.g. via the preliminary application for recognising skills) - there is no automatic transfer and recording of your academic achievements at the TH Rosenheim. For your application, please use the form "Application for recognising skills" and submit it to the Examinations Office.

You decide for yourself which (pre-approved) courses from abroad should be recognised and recorded towards your studies at the TH Rosenheim. Please first wait for your grade certificate (certificate / transcript of records) from abroad, which is usually sent to you directly by the foreign university. 

Application procedure
Please submit your application for recognising skills and your grade certificate or certificate (transcript of records) to the Examinations Office. Please note that you must submit the original or a certified photocopy of your certificate (transcript of records). In addition, supplement your application with a module description of the courses and examinations completed. This should be written in German or English. After the formal review, the staff at the Examinations Office will forward your application to the respective Examination Committee for a final decision. The Examinations Office then records the academic achievements recognised and notifies you accordingly. You will be able to see these academic achievements afterwards in your academic overview via the Online Service Center (OSC).
