Injection molding and fiber composite technology

We are driven by sustainability. Our goal is to impart knowledge and skills in polymer technology to students and industrial partners. We provide tools to optimize processes and products ecologically and to evaluate decisions sustainably.

Our research helps the circular economy and increases the recycling of raw materials. Of particular note is the embedding of wood fibres in plastics, which replaces non-renewable raw materials in current applications. We have established closed-loop recycling processes, reduced waste and developed digital solutions to counteract the shortage of labour forces. Our energy monitoring identifies high potential savings.

In the future, we want to expand our research in the fields of bioeconomics and recycling to make comprehensive use of wood as a material and to improve mechanical recycling.
