About the degree programme
Engineering Pedagogy, specialization in construction technology
Focus on timber and interior construction
The new Bachelor’s degree programme in Engineering Pedagogy, with its specialisation in construction technology, is an engineering degree programme that also prepares students for further training as a teacher at vocational schools. Corresponding with the TH Rosenheim’s profile, the focus here is on wood as a sustainable material and its use in wood construction and interior engineering. After completing the Engineering Pedagogy degree programme, students can go on to study the Master's degree programme in Vocational Education (e.g. at the Technical University of Munich) and then enter work as a trainee teacher with the prospect of a career as a senior civil servant. Alternatively, a career in the construction industry is possible as a Bachelor of Engineering. The additional qualifications in the field of pedagogy and psychology are especially sought after.

Career Opportunities
The degree programme provides access to a career (as a civil servant) in the vocational school system. With a Master’s degree programme and teacher training (2nd state examination), a career as a senior civil servant up to the level of the school head is possible. There are excellent employment opportunities over the next few years (see infographic).
Compared to other teacher training courses that prepare students exclusively for future work at schools, graduates of the Engineering Pedagogy degree programme can also opt to work at a company. Possible areas of employment are in building technology at a construction company or an engineering office as well as in human resources development and further vocational training.
Whether it be as a vocational schoolteacher or an engineer at a company, this degree programme provides the best career prospects.
