At the end of September, employees from International Offices at European universities met at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences to discuss relevant international topics and the challenges they face. Over the course of three days, the participants from Belgium, Spain and Finland talked about best practice examples and developed solutions. They also talked about joint programmes such as blended intensive programmes and summer schools and discussed the challenges posed by the increasing number of international full-time students. ‘Sometimes it's just good to know that we're not the only ones who have to overcome these challenges,‘ said Tatjana Erlewein, who played a key role in organising the event with the team from Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences’ International Office.

In a total of three workshops, the guests also learnt how important international teamwork is, why TikTok has not yet established itself as an advertising channel at European universities and that the "Schuhplattler" is a Bavarian dance that is not so easy to learn. A visit to the Chiemgau campus with its English-language e-commerce course and the subsequent cultural programme with a guided tour of Herrenchiemsee Castle fascinated the guests, as did the final visit to the world-famous Oktoberfest in Munich. Here, the learning content from the ‘Bavarian for Beginners’ workshop was perfected in the form of the Spanish version of the "Schuhplattler".

The participants left Rosenheim satisfied and the Academic Director for International Affairs, Professor Dr Carolin Fleischmann, and the Head of the International Office, Sibylle Möbius, agree that there will be a third Staff Week at the Rosenheim campus in the near future.
