School in Romania equipped with computers from Rosenheim

The Faculty of Business Administration has donated thirteen as-new HP computers including screens, mouses and keyboards to a German school in Alba Iulia, Romania. The donation is part of the sixth aid transport organised by “Chiemgauer Rumänienhilfe” this year. The computers are intended to facilitate access to digital education for pupils in Alba Iulia. The recipient is the diaconal organisation of the local Protestant church, which supports social projects in the region as well as educational initiatives. "Donations like this help us enormously to improve the children's educational opportunities and further expand digital teaching" says Sister Maria Hausner, who runs the school as well as a kindergarten and retirement homes in the city.

The transport, which included donated clothing, bed linen, toiletries, bicycles and pushchairs in addition to the computers from Rosenheim, was coordinated by Hans Alt, the head of Chiemgauer Rumänienhilfe. Alt emphasised the importance of financial support for such aid transports. The costs per journey amount to 2,500 euros and are covered exclusively by donations. A generous donor took over the financing of this whole transport. "Such gestures give us the strength to continue our work" emphasised Alt.

With its donation, the faculty not only wants to provide practical help, but also sends a signal of solidarity. "Education is a cornerstone for the future of young people, and we are pleased to contribute to this with our support" explained Professor Dr Heinrich Seidlmeier, Head of the IT laboratories at the Faculty of Business Administration. Special thanks go to former THRO employee Hans Kagerer for his uncomplicated support in dismantling and preparing the computers for transport. "His commitment was a great help and enabled us to get the donation on its way quickly and smoothly" emphasised Seidlmeier.
