Prof.Dr. Sonja Unterlechner

Prof. Dr. Sonja Unterlechner studied Economics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) in Munich.  She received the “Anita Augspurg Award” for the best master thesis of her class.

Prof. Dr. Sonja Unterlechner obtained her Ph.D. in Health Economics at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) in Aachen. Her Ph.D. thesis was awarded with the “Bochersplakette“ for outstanding academic achievements.  

From 2005 to 2014 Prof. Dr. Sonja Unterlechner worked as a consultant for the global strategic management consulting firm The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in leadership positions. She managed projects in 13 countries (in Europe, North America and Asia).

Prof. Dr. Sonja Unterlechner had the opportunity to study not only in Germany but also in the USA,  Mexico as well as Thailand. She was also a visiting professor at Penn State University, Pennsylvania in the USA, one of our partner universities.

In her private life Prof. Dr. Sonja Unterlechner is a great fan of travelling and exploring foreign countries. She loves sports (There’s no better way to relax than running at the river Isar!) and enjoys spending time with her family.
