Visits to the innovation lab
26.11.2024 Emeritus professors of the Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences visit the innovation lab
On November 26, 2024, we had the pleasure of welcoming the retired professors of TH Rosenheim to our Innovation Lab. During their visit, they had the opportunity to experience a virtual reality application, which left a lasting impression with its realistic effects.
Following this, Prof. Straube introduced the visitors to the diverse technologies in our lab. From 3D scanning and additive manufacturing to our collaborative robot, the presentation offered a comprehensive insight into our work. Key topics such as production data collection and artificial intelligence were also highlighted and sparked lively discussions.
The enthusiastic exchange continued until the very last minute, making the visit an inspiring experience for everyone involved.
22.11.2024 Children's university – on a wild rollercoaster ride at the Chiemgau campus
Big crowds at the second children's university at Campus Chiemgau. 40 children attended the children's university on November 22, 2024, under the motto “Smart Computers and Crazy Glasses – What Does Digitalization Mean?”
In the lecture by Professor Robert Kuttler (TH Rosenheim), the young researchers learned a lot of interesting facts about artificial intelligence and what they can do with it.
After the lecture, it was time to experiment and try things out for themselves. In addition to a wild virtual rollercoaster ride, made possible by the virtual reality glasses from the innovation laboratory at the Chiemgau campus, they also experienced creative image generation, surprising sound generation and a “real” racing car, projected by their professor in the middle of the lecture hall. The enthusiasm was tangible for everyone.
Incidentally, parents were not allowed during the lecture and the experiments at the three different children's university stations. Meanwhile, they were learning from Professor Ina Fuchshuber (TH Rosenheim) why it is still important to learn and research in a world shaped by AI. And, just like their children, they immersed themselves in the digitalized and virtual world.
08.11.2024 InnovateTheAlps Hackathon 2024
On November 8, 2024, we welcomed the participants of the InnovateTheAlps Hackathon 2024 to our innovation lab in Traunstein. A big thank you to Magdalena Daxenberger for involving us again this year! At their first stop, the students gained exciting insights into 3D scanning, additive manufacturing, collaborative robots, and augmented and virtual reality. The visit not only offered fascinating technologies, but also a lot of fun for everyone involved.
14.10.2024 Visit from BSH Logistics Team at the Innovationslabor
On October 14, 2024, we were pleased to welcome Hans Bernhofer, Head of Logistics at BSH Traunreut and responsible for Logistics in Europe, along with his team to the Innovationslabor. During the visit, we showcased various technologies, starting with 3D scanning, which can be used for training purposes in warehouses. We also demonstrated additive manufacturing and its potential applications in logistics. Although our collaborative robot was en route from an event at the German Embassy in Rome, we discussed its role in our work. The team also had the chance to try out our VR crane training system, developed in collaboration with TÜV Munich.
A special thanks to Alexander Fuchs from BSH for organizing the visit. We look forward to further collaboration!
