About the degree programme
We live in a world, where Artificial Intelligence (AI) is progressing rapidly. In almost all areas of our daily life we have touchpoints with AI. Autonomous driving or voice support are currently the best-known areas of application. But AI is also used in other industries, such as medical research, nursing, climate protection or production – to name just a few. AI is diverse, offers a wide range of possible applications and requires a broad knowledge to apply. The need for qualified specialists and managers in this area is huge, worldwide. For this reason, Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences designed the Applied Artificial Intelligence Bachelor‘s degree.

Course content
Companies already need graduates who can quickly and effectively implement AI techniques and technologies in real IT systems and business applications.
In order to be able to transfer the potential of AI into practice in dialogue with the users, students of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Applied Artificial Intelligence gain sound knowledge and acquire skills in software engineering, mathematical know-how as well as comprehensive knowledge in the development of AI systems. In this respect, a particular focus of the degree programme is the mathematical understanding of the fundamentals and the application of the various AI approaches in practice.
In seven semesters, students thus acquire relevant professional competencies from computer science, mathematics, artificial intelligence as well as important key competencies and soft skills. In addition, they learn how to deal with AI in a responsible manner. They are enabled to recognise what AI is allowed to do and what it is not allowed to do and which ethical principles must be observed.
To support individual interests, students can choose from a large number of additional modules: Link to the course structure (more details)
Content in the area of artificial intelligence include machine learning, data science, deep learning, and computer vision.
Mathematical content includes statistics and numerics, among others.
In addition, the curriculum integrates subject-specific elective modules (FWPM) from various disciplines, such as:
Computer Science: Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Agile Software Development, Mobile Applications, User Experience Design, Computer Networks, Embedded Systems.
Engineering: Robotics, Communications Engineering, Digital Signal Processing, Process Data Engineering, Digital Integrated Circuit Design.
Your practical semester
In order to make the internship semester interesting and successful, it is important to have the right contacts in addition to the information (information sheet on the internship semester). Here you can also find out in which companies students have been able to complete successful internships and, if applicable, projects. Don't forget the necessary requirements, forms and applications.
