Conference Results

Authors prepared a session where conference delegates had the chance to try things out with their own hands or minds. Thus, presenting authors were strongly encouraged to bring artefacts, which were closely related to their topic (e.g. demos, simulations, teaching & learning materials or tools).

Same as for flipped/inverted classroom or just-in-time-teaching, contributors prepared material for the participants to read or watch in advance of the conference. Audience members were encouraged to prepare for this session in order to get the most out of it. After a short introduction of less than 5 minutes (summary, video, poll, …) activities took place that encouraged the participants to discuss about the given input.

An 8 min presentation using power point or other visualization media was followed by 10 min discussion or Q&A. Contributors were encouraged to prepare questions for the audience to discuss.

The audience was able to choose the posters of most interest to them, because the contributors presented their poster in advance to the poster session in a 30 second short pitch. Questions and discussions took place later in front of the poster.

Target of each workshop was to gain an in depth understanding of teaching and learning methods. The workshop contained only short periods of input by the presenter(s) and gave mainly room for the participants to work on a topic, discuss it and/or further develop it.
