Educational Requirements

The Academic Evaluation Center (APS) verifies the documents of applicants who want to apply for studies in Germany with a Chinese, Vietnamese or Indian school or university degree. 

In order to get an APS, you will have to register online on the APS website in Beijing, Shanghai, Hanoi or New Delhi.

The database on admission requirements of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) allows international students to check whether they meet the requirements for the Bachelor's degree programme of their choice in Germany.

Extra academic experience in your home country

Applicants from certain countries, particularly non-EU ones, may require some introductory academic experience alongside their higher education entrance qualification. If that applies to you, you will need extra academic experience in your home country (a specific number of semesters depending on the country in which you got your school leaving certificate).

As a non-German applicant, you have to meet the following requirements for admission to Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences (TH Rosenheim):

1. You must have an higher education entrance qualification giving you access to higher education in your home country.
2. Your educational qualification must indicate sufficient knowledge to make studying at a Bavarian higher education institution attainable.
3. You must demonstrate the level of German / English language skills required by Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences.

• …have direct access to admission, be it general or subject-specific
• …need extra academic experience in your home country (a specific number of semesters depending on the country in which you got your school-leaving certificate)
• …need to do a preparatory course in one of Germany’s Studienkollegs
• …are not eligible to apply with your certificate

Mostly, the school-leaving certificates issued by EU countries as well as Great Britain, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland are accepted as university entrance qualifications in Germany.

Foreign educational qualifications comparable to a German university qualification provide direct university admission in Bavaria. If these qualifications qualify for all courses of studies in the student’s home country, they principally qualify for all courses of studies in Bavaria as well.

If qualification is restricted to a single course or to a number of particular courses of studies, qualification requirements are also restricted in Bavaria to these subjects or courses of studies.

If admission to university is granted due to studies abroad, the applicant in Bavaria fulfils the qualification requirements for a course of studies only in this/these or in neighbouring fields of studies.

Applicants from certain countries, particularly non-EU ones, may require further academic experience alongside their higher education entrance qualification.

Therefore, you may have to complete an introductory academic experience in your home country, cf. a specific number of semesters in a Bachelor’s Programme in your home country, or attend a preparatory course (“Studienkolleg”) in Germany before applying to TH Rosenheim. 

Studienkollegs in Germany mainly prepare for German-taught Bachelor's degree programmes. Therefore, German language skills at B2 level are required for the entrance exam at a Studienkolleg. Information on Studienkollegs in Germany can be found at studienkollegs.de.

In Bavaria, the Studienkolleg Coburg is responsible for preparatory courses specifically for universities of applied sciences.
