Employability Attractive for International Students at TH Rosenheim

In the benchmark study "International Student Barometer" (ISB) coordinated by GATE-Germany, TH Rosenheim scored particularly well in the area of employability. The practice-oriented teaching, proximity to industry and business, integrated internships, application and intercultural training as well as language courses and career advice are particularly important. The overall result is also impressive: 92% of those surveyed in 2022 were very satisfied overall with their studies at TH Rosenheim, 90% would recommend TH Rosenheim to others. The ISB provides a valuable data basis for evaluating the attractiveness for international students and making targeted improvements.

The 179 international students and alumni who took part were also more satisfied than average in the areas of learning, support from TH Rosenheim staff, value for money and living conditions. There is still some room for improvement when it comes to arriving and starting studies at TH Rosenheim: In comparison with the global ISB data, TH Rosenheim scored slightly below average at 87% to 91% (global ISB data). According to the survey, there is therefore little potential for improvement for the respondents in 2022. However, it should not go unnoticed that students were surveyed in an exceptional period in 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

With the number of international students at TH Rosenheim rising sharply, the major challenge at present is to maintain the high quality and to create and establish structures within the university for this purpose, as well as to further expand the external infrastructure, especially affordable accommodation for international students, together with stakeholders in the region. It is also important to further promote the employability of international students during their studies through German language courses, international career service offers and networking with companies in the region, as well as to actively support the transition into the regional job market after successfully completing their studies.
