Studying without an Abitur?
Access to higher education for master craftsmen (and equivalent qualifications such as technicians, business administrators) and qualified professionals
In principle, a university entrance qualification is required to study.
This is no longer acquired exclusively at grammar schools, vocational and technical colleges or similar through the “Abitur” or “Fachabitur”.
In the 2009/10 winter semester, the amendment to the Bavarian Higher Education Act introduced two major changes that open up further opportunities for university admission:
A distinction is made between general university admission (master craftsmen and women and those with equivalent qualifications) and subject-specific university admission (qualified professionals).
