How much does it actually cost to study at TH Rosenheim? What fees and charges must students pay each semester?
Student Union fee

Every student at TH Rosenheim is required to pay the Student Union fee each semester. The student union fee is 85 € per semester.

For the first semester, the fee must be paid upon enrolment at Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences. You will receive detailed information about this when you have applied for enrolment via the online application portal.

Payment for subsequent semesters is made when you re-register.
Tuition Fees for International Students from Non-EU Countries
- For international students from third countries, tuition fees of 500 € per enrolled semester will apply from summer semester 2026.
- These fees will also apply to international students enrolling at TH Rosenheim in the winter semester of 2025/26. They will be charged from summer semester 2026 onwards.
Who is exempt from Paying Tuition Fees?
- Students with one of the following nationalities are exempt:
- Germany
- Member countries of the European Economic Area (EEA), i.e. EU member states as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway
- All countries with corresponding agreements
- Regardless of nationality, students with a stable domestic connection (long-term right of residence) are also exempt, meaning:
- Students who have resided in Germany for at least five years before starting their studies and were legally employed, or
- Students for whom at least one parent has been legally employed in Germany for at least three years within the last six years.
- Students who have obtained their higher education entrance qualification or an undergraduate degree in Germany.
- Students enrolled at TH Rosenheim before the winter semester 2025/26.
- Students from partner universities, provided the programme includes compulsory study visits at the partner university and leads to a joint degree or a degree from each of the participating universities and the fee waiver is based on reciprocity.
- Students who are enrolled at TH Rosenheim within the framework of university agreements, if no degree from TH Rosenheim is sought and the fee exemption is reciprocal.
- International students who are on leave of absence.
- Asylum seekers from countries with a protection quota of at least 50%.
(Note: Asylum seekers are not exempt from the obligation to pay contributions from the outset due to this status.) - Students with a disability that significantly impairs their studies.
- There are further exceptions, which must be assessed on a case-by-case basis
