Yes, dual studies are possible with studying the International Bachelor of Engineering at TH Rosenheim.
Dual programmes combine regular studies at the university with practical placements at companies. Knowledge gained through academic studies can be applied regularly during periods of in-company work experience.
In combined degree programmes, you combine a bachelor’s degree with a professional apprenticeship which includes a vocational qualification over 4.5 years. When you choose this model, you will spend the entire first year as a trainee in a company and go to vocational school alongside this. Then, you start the degree, where, in the practical semester, you also sit the exam for the vocational qualification.
Degree programmes with advanced work experience offer students the opportunity to acquire extensive vocational experience during set periods of work experience. During lecture-free periods and the practical semester students are paid to work at a selected partner company. In this way, they complete at least 50 per cent more periods of practical experience than they would in a regular degree programme, but without lengthening the normal course duration of 3.5 years. At the end of the degree programme the students will – if possible – produce their bachelor’s thesis together with the partner company and so add their theoretical knowledge to their practical experience.
