Common goal, individual path, holistic techniques.
Physical therapists are experts in movement. Due to their profound theoretical knowledge of the human body, they are able to recognize and analyze dysfunctions and to develop and apply interventions individually adapted to the patients. Counseling plays an important role in therapy. The spectrum of physiotherapeutic interventions ranges from prevention and health promotion to the treatment of acute and chronic illnesses and support for people with disabilities and terminal illnesses.
The structural changes in the health care system increase the demands on physical therapists in professional practice. A scientifically based and interdisciplinary way of working as well as basic knowledge in management are gaining in importance. The model course of study addresses this need and replaces the previous vocational school with academic training.
