About the degree programme
Aesthetics and design surround us every day - whether as the space we are in or as the furnishing object or piece of furniture we look at or use. The Master's programme "Interior Architecture and Furniture Design" takes up these two central focal points and offers national and international university graduates in architecture, interior architecture, design and related fields the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and to specialise in architecture or design.
The tasks of the practice-oriented project work refer to current topics from culture and society and seek experimental utilisation concepts and innovative product solutions. These usually do not remain just theory, but become reality together with external partners from industry and business.
Course content
The aim of establishing the Master's programme was to offer the best diploma and Bachelor's graduates in architecture, interior architecture, design and related subjects an in-depth, higher-qualification course of study in the field of interior design.
This Master's programme is designed to be three semesters long and thus builds on the Rosenheim Bachelor's degree in interior architecture with seven semesters (special arrangements exist for applicants with a six-semester Bachelor's degree, with a diploma degree or with extensive professional experience).
The specialisation "Space" is more architecture-oriented and deals with topics such as "Building in Existing Contexts", "Residential Construction" as well as in-depth building construction and building technology.
The specialisation "Furniture Design" is more oriented towards furniture design, furniture construction and the 1:1 scale and deals with the conception, design and development of architecture-related furniture and products, often also in cooperation with partners from industry within the framework of scientific research projects.
